Smaller bags, bigger discoveries

Sixty grams is about 3–5 cups — enough to really get to know a coffee, small enough that trying something new feels easy instead of risky. Instead of one big bag you commit to, you get six chances to find your next favorite.

Curated so every cup is worth experiencing

Every coffee in your box earns its spot. We look for roasters we're excited about, uncommon varieties, unusual flavors, and experiences worth talking about — then we tell you exactly what makes each one special on a card in the box.

Some are bright and clean, some are funky and surprising. Want to ease in? Choose our 4-bag option and choose your preference.

The printed feature cards for a month's six coffees, fanned out

“On paper this coffee is not for me — I tend to dislike heavy intervention coffees, and carbonic maceration specifically. That said, it's just such a wonderful coffee, and a great example of why I'm such a fan of Bean Archives.”

“I would have avoided this coffee like the plague if it weren't for this group — and it ended up a 10/10. Genuinely shocked at how much I'm loving it.”

Dialed in, from the first brew

Ever feel like you're chasing a coffee's flavor notes but can't quite get there? To us this was the hardest part about trying a lot of different coffees: finding the best brew recipe for each one.

That's why we dial in every coffee before we ship. Every coffee comes with a tested recipe and brew tips on its card. Reference our recipe for a great cup on day one, or use the brew tips to fine tune your own approach. Either way, you'll know what to do before you grind your first dose.

“The curation and the brew guides take the searching out of it. The dial-ins have been spot on — so nice to just open the box and get to tasting.”

Want to go deeper? One special drop a month

Once a month we offer a small selection of add-on coffees — unusual picks, premium lots, and decaf options, many you can't easily buy in the US.

They come with the same simple brew guides as everything else, so even a single 15g dose of a super special lot will be sure to deliver.

“Some of these coffees you can't even get in the US, shipping's free, and I just trust your curation.”

Matthias and Bryan, the founders of The Bean Archives

We almost didn't meet…

Bryan had just moved to Durham from Copenhagen — two weeks in. Matthias was one Zoom meeting away from skipping Regalia's East Coast tour at Yonder Coffee. Fate stepped in, the connection happened, and a bond over coffee formed fast.

What started as an Instagram archive of coffees we brewed and loved became a shared journey — one we wanted others to explore and discover with us.

That curiosity grew into The Bean Archives subscription. We were craving more variety than we could find — so we did what felt natural and started building it ourselves.

The Triangle Coffee Club helped validate and fuel the idea, with an eagerness to explore new flavors that often led to overflowing freezers, massive group orders, and an endless cycle of resealing smell-proof bags during repacks.
